Jostens was originally a small jewelry and watch repair business in Owatonna, Minnesota in 1897. In 1900 they began manufacturing emblems and awards for nearby schools and in 1906 Jostens added class ring to his product line. It was Daniel C. Gainey, a former teacher and football coach that made the business of the class ring became popular. Because of the money that Daniel got from his sale, the watch making and repair business was sold and then they construct the company’s first ring manufacturing plant. Daniel was elected as a chairman and CEO for his great contribution to the company. His contribution was his establishment and motivation of a nationwide sales force. And because of his contribution, the Jostens is now remained as the best designer of Class ring or more known as Jostens Class Ring.
